Save the Med inspires local communities to come together and take action not only to protect but also to regenerate the environment that surrounds them, with a special focus on the Mediterranean basin. Our organisation operates under the firm belief that the only way to approach the root cause of any human created problem and reach lasting results is to involve those same humans in action to drive positive change.
What is the Xarxa?
The Xarxa Dragonera Blava (XDB) is a community connected to Sa Dragonera, consisting of individuals who have professional or recreational ties to the area. The main goal of the Network is to establish participatory governance for the marine space of Sa Dragonera, enabling the community to actively participate in decision-making processes related to its management.
How does it work?
The process begins by building a connection with the community, learning together about the area, its values, and the threats it faces. Next, we set goals and work collaboratively through participatory forums to ensure that everyone has a voice in managing the space. In addition, it’s essential to engage with different sectors in the area to promote the implementation of best practices.

Keep up to date with our activities
Arrels Marines and Save the Med collaborate to regenerate the area's marine and terrestrial ecosystems, engaging with the Pollença community and stakeholders through the Talaia Nord forums, which focus on addressing local needs and harnessing local expertise.
Since 2022, over 150 people have participated in these forums, establishing four working groups to tackle issues such as water quality, biodiversity and protection frameworks, awareness-raising, and illegal anchoring. Click the link below for more information!
